refixing eyes

2 Corinthians 4:18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen.  For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

I need to refix my eyes.

I fix my eyes too much on what is seen.

The physical:

No full time job for husband.

Son's safety and decisions about relationships.

Dwindling bank account.

Things breaking, having to be replaced.

Sickness, illness.

I need to refix my eyes on the unseen, the eternal:

Jesus! Author and finisher of my faith
Father God. Creator, provider, sustainer.
Holy Spirit. Comforter, counselor, guide.

I need to refix my eyes on:

God's promises.

God's words.

God's truth.

God himself.

Eternal versus temporary (physical)
unseen versus seen

Lord Jesus, give me new eyes, new vision to see the eternal more and the temporary less.

  6. Amen. May He fix all of our eyes.

We actually have been members of the gym for a while now, but making it a priority for me to get there has slipped by the wayside the last couple of months. So, trying to find a time when it's not interfering with family time/homeschooling, etc is hard. 5 am seems to be it. lol

  7. Yes so true. It's so easy to get caught up in today and fill our time with worry when we should be rejoicing on what lies ahead. Things don't stay bad unless we continually see them that way.

  8. I can understand you having a hard time fixing your eyes on the unseen with so much that is going wrong that is seen. Just know that He never gives us more than we can bear. Things will turn around and you will be able to see the SONshine once more. Just don't lose faith. :) I'll pray for better days for you.

  9. I was awake through the night thinking about very similar issues you have mentioned. There's some other stuff too that seems to not have an easy solution or even a solution at all? Anyway, so glad I stumbled on this... time to change my focus. Thanks, Betty

  15. A good reminder for all of us. I think we all struggle with worries and things that are beyond our control. We are human. But we do know that God always cares for us. We just need to remind ourselves from time to time. :)
