We have a lovely neighborhood park within walking distance to where we live. It has a playground, basketball court, volleyball court, gazebos with some BBQ pits there, softball field and a lot of other open space fields for playing soccer or flag football. There is ample grassy area for birthday parties and the like and there is even a group of musicians who come there on Saturday mornings and play music. We're going to check that out some Saturday soon. There is also a pool there which this summer will be opened for the first time in 2 years! I'm sure the neighborhood kids are thrilled about that.
We walk Winslow at this park. Now we could walk to the park to walk Winslow at it but we drive to the park because it is just easier to avoid city streets and traffic when walking Winslow since he tends to bark at passing cars or people riding their bikes.
This past week this sign was painted on the sidewalk
And a butterfly.
My husband who walks Winslow in the morning (I'll go on the afternoon walk, weather permitting) has found about 10 of the eggs and one butterfly. I'm not sure how long they will be there on the ground, if they will be removed or allowed to fade away, but we are planning on taking our grandson next weekend to the park to see if we can find all 40 eggs and the 3 butterflies (he's out of town this weekend).
It is a lovely neighborhood park and gets a lot of activity in it with the various games played there, parties, etc.
Happy Easter to all!
He is risen!
Such a fun and friendly neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteHappy EASTER to u all
Thank you for the Easter wishes :) For the most part, I do think this is a friendly neighborhood :)

That sounds like a wonderful park. How fun that is with the chalk eggs and butterflies. Whoever did that had a great idea.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great idea! I'll have to watch to see if anyone comments on the Next Door app here or the like on whose idea it was. Very clever!

I have never seen a chalk Easter egg hunt. I love it!
ReplyDeleteLess calories too :)

Sounds like a lovely park. We have a lot of sidewalk art around here too. During the pandemic they did all of the entrances to the hospital. It was nice. It lasts quite a while as long as you don't get rain. Have a wonderful Saturday!!
ReplyDeleteThat was nice to do the chalk art around the entrances to the hospital. Really cheery I would imagine. This might last until our monsoon season (June to October) since we rarely get rain here :)

How fun that someone put in that time!

It was a lovely gesture on someone's part to do so :)

Aww, that’s fun and nice that someone spent the time to do that. I always enjoy seeing kids’ sidewalk chalk drawings and messages in my neighborhood. Glad kids are outside and not playing video games!
ReplyDeleteI would be curious to know who did do it. Took some planning and buying of the supplies. I agree; I rather have the kids outside playing than inside watching TV or on their tablets or the like.

Sounds like a lot of fun at your park. Children would love hunting for the chalked eggs and other artwork. We walk at a neighborhood park, which has a small playground, a pavilion and lies along a river. A lot of people walk dogs there but enough of them take them off leash (which is prohibited by a prominent sign). No artwork on the walking path there, alas. Thank you for your visit to my A to Z blog.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting back :) Seems like you walk in a nice area too! A pet peeve of mine is owners who let their dogs off leash when it is prohibited to do so. I don't understand why some people think they can bypass the rules.

So cute!!!😍
ReplyDeleteIt really is cute! I bet kids get a big kick out of trying to find the eggs.

How sweet is that? Some one has a good imagination and also a good artist. We did enjoy the entry and Neighborhood is a very good choice.
ReplyDeleteWe walk here, very little traffic seldom pass a car or are passed in the mile but wish we did have sidewalks... ;-)
Indeed, someone does have a good imagination Jack! It is hard to walk without sidewalks. I feel safer on them :)

What a fun idea - and so nicely done! Five stars to whoever did it!
ReplyDeleteI know, definitely 5 stars! We just started walking Winslow at this park over the past few months so I'm not sure if they do it every year or not. A very clever person came up with it I do believe :)

That is so cute!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter - God Bless.
God bless you and your family, too, Sandie! Happy Easter right back at you :) It really was cute to see at the park :)

M'gosh, someone is sure clever! ... Not only to come up with that cute idea, but they're artistically inclined, as well. Now I'm wondering if there's a prize for whoever discovers all 40.
ReplyDeleteThat would be great if there was a prize! I'll have to see how active the park is tomorrow on Easter. I imagine a lot of people will be there for picnics. Who knows, maybe there will be a competition then with finding and winning a prize :)

That's a fun idea. I hope you'll let us know how many eggs and butterflies you find.
ReplyDeleteI will if I remember, lol :) I know, such a fun idea!! I really hope I find out who came up with it!

I guess that is a good way to get people to walk around. Like a really low-tech version of Pokemon Go.
ReplyDeleteSo true, I hadn't thought of that being like Pokemon Go! And so true with a good way to get exercise :) Thanks for visiting!

The park sounds just perfect. I wish we had something like that close by. We have a recreation center with a small park and splash pad, but it's closed this summer due to hurricane damage. How cool and creative is that chalk Easter egg hunt!! Such a great idea that will be fun for all. I hope you can find them all when you go back. Thanks for always visiting me and your sweet comments. Happy Easter, Betty!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome Mellie :) It is a very nice park. I hope your recreation center/small park opens sometime soon in the new year perhaps! So essential and needed I think to be able to have a place to do outside activities! Happy Easter to you and yours!!!

wow how cool is that!!! Hallelujah he has RISEN!!!
ReplyDeleteHe is risen indeed. Thanks for visiting. Hope you have a lovely day.

Your neighborhood sounds so lovely. I love all the things in the park and what a fun Easter egg hunt. Hope you have a good Easter Betty... "He is Risen" Matthew 28:6
ReplyDeleteHe is risen indeed! I hope you, too, Janet have a great Easter day! It is a nice neighborhood I live in. Within walking distance from our house is an elementary school and a high school so it is nice for families. The kids, though, do get bused to the middle school.

Such a cute little idea for the community!
ReplyDeleteIt was a cute idea! I wish I knew who came up with it though :) Thanks for visiting :)

That is a great place to walk Winslow! We had a park in our old neighborhood and every once in a while, someone would write encouraging sayings and words along the sidewalk! I would love to take my grandsons to walk in a park like that and look for eggs!
ReplyDeleteI bet your grandsons would have a blast looking for them!

We have a neighborhood park across the roaf from our apartment with a pretty lake . We sometimes spot playful otters there too.
ReplyDeleteJayashree writes
I think it would be fun to see the otters there at your neighborhood park!

This is so nice!
ReplyDeleteHope your grandson finds them all!!
Happy Easter :)

It should be fun to see if he finds them all :) I hope you had a nice Easter day.

I wish someone had chalked something about the real reason for Easter ... seems we are inundated with the secular part with nary a word about the sacred. But Winslow is precious as usual and what doggy does not like a walk in the park? I hope your Easter was wonderful from the first moment to the last! xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo true Jenny. My step granddaughter had no idea of why we celebrate Easter and she is 16 years old. Winslow loves his walks there at the park. He has quite a fan club. Several other people who walk their dogs there bring treats to share. Winslow knows them all by sight and gallopss on his leash to get to them lol
DeleteMy Easter was wonderful. Our church does baptisms at each of the services on Easter. I cry at each one. Tears of joy with people making that public declaration of their faith. Hope you had a nice one.

I love that! How sweet of someone to do that on the sidewalk. The park sounds lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt was sweet to do. I have taken grandson to that park before to play on the equipment. He loves it and I get my exercise in lol.

What a wonderful park!! I love the chalking and game! ~Andrea xoxo
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed seeing it too! Someone was very creative!
